Breakthrough System Allows Retailers to Offer Lucrative Inkjet Refilling Services

InkTec Zone's Ink-O-Matic System for Retailers Unveiled at CES 2006

Cambridge, Mass., Jan. 05, 2006 – InkTec Zone has introduced the Ink-O-Matic -- an automated inkjet cartridge refilling system for retail locations. The release of the Ink-O-Matic opens the fast-growingz inkjet refilling market to any retailer.

Inkjet refilling is a lucrative market with profit margins of 85% to 95%. The Ink-O-Matic provides a win/win solution for retailers and consumers. The turnkey solution allows retailers to quickly and easily increase their sales with an inkjet cartridge refilling service, while consumers benefit from the significantly lower cost of refilling their inkjet cartridges.

The Ink-O-Matic, designed for use by retail store employees, tests and refills more than 60 HP, Lexmark and Dell Cartridges. It includes everything necessary for a refilling service with a single machine, including cartridge tester, sonicator, video-based training, and customer support. The centrifuge, a separate compact unit, is recommended for use with the Ink-O-Matic to drain ink completely from used cartridges. To meet the needs of retailers small and large InkTec Zone is offering four equipment and service packages.

The Ink-O-Matic offers several operational and technical advantages over other ink-filling systems. Ink-O-Matic’s:

• Patent-pending, fill-through the head technology eliminates the need for employees to break open the tops of cartridges when refilling with the Ink-O-Matic. This not only reduces the complexity by eliminating the need for cutting tools, but also significantly reduces the processing time.
• Easy-to-use touch screen guides employees through refilling cartridges successfully with less than one hour of training, helping retailers who face high employee turnover rates recognize the return on their investment more quickly.
• Advanced technologies, including magnetostrictive sensors from robotics, are used to control fill accuracy with fewer moving parts.
• Safeguards have been incorporated to reduce human error including automatic cartridge detection and specially designed one liter bulk ink containers that cannot be loaded improperly.
• A complete set of nine pigment and dye based inks were specially formulated for use with a specific range of cartridges.
